Danielle Arigoni is an urban planner and community resilience expert. She has worked as an executive in national nonprofits and lead impactful teams at US EPA and HUD. She is the author of Climate Resilience for an Aging Nation (Island Press, October 2023) which explores the impacts of climate change on a rapidly growing demographic – people over 65 – and the need for community-scale solutions to reduce risk for all.
Danielle's research is informed by her experience working to advance equity and address climate resilience, including as AARP’s Director of Livable Communities and Managing Director for Policy and Solutions at National Housing Trust. Over her 25-year career, she has played a key role in several innovative national efforts, including HUD’s $1 billion National Disaster Resilience Competition, and EPA’s implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act investments to promote climate justice and equity.
Danielle holds a master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from Cornell University and a bachelor’s degree in Planning from University of Oregon. She serves as Chair of the Board of Directors for the League of American Bicyclists and as a member of the Board of Directors for Smart Growth America.
